This course aims at introducing the students to the contemporary digital culture following an artistic ap- proach, where “digital culture” is meant as the con- temporary infrastructure based on bits, their artistic uses, and intersections between creativity and digital technologies.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 CFA credits.
Successful students will be able to:
→ Be familiar with the evolution of digital art in the last decades
→ Understand all the theoretical implications, from the Turing machine on
→ Understand the role of data in the art world
→ Understand the role of algorithms in the art world
→ Master the artistic instances
→ Video-art
→ Multimedia installations
→ Cyberart
→ Bio-art
→ Digital art
The programme focuses on theoretical courses.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the different topics covered:
Classroom lectures
Debates, presentations, peer assessment
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Individual study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Written exams
Submission of exercises, projects or research works
Oral exams
