Activity 2

Purpose: 

To critically explore new directions and innovations in materials for speaking instruction. 

Instructions: 

1. Group Research In small groups, investigate at least two of the following trends: 

• Use of video-based speaking prompts 

• AI and chatbot conversation tools 

• Pronunciation apps and feedback tools 

• Conversation-based learning platforms

• Voice-integrated LMS tools (e.g., Flip, Google Voice) 

2. Infographic Creation Design an infographic that includes: 

• Titles and brief definitions of the chosen trends 

• Visual examples (icons, screenshots, etc.) 

• Key benefits and challenges 

• A short citation (e.g., “Adapted from Smith, 2022”)
