Course description

This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of American government, the American political process and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Citizenship is a set of skills, supported by an appreciation for and knowledge of the fundamental principles guiding American government, and the history of this nation’s pursuit of its ideals. The liberty of American citizens is best served by the capable supervision of a citizen actively participating in the democratic process. This course is designed to equip young people to enjoy, participate in, and maintain the freedoms, rights, and responsibilities of living in the United States.
