Tell us your "why" for being part of this program and how you plan to leverage the resources to create a culture of opportunities for students and the community.
One of the most important things for students is becoming digital citizens and being able to navigate and access information in an increasingly tech-dependent world. Tech literacy, just like reading and mathematics, is one of the things that will determine future success and life outcomes for our students. For the population of students we serve, the opportunity to learn from these vital skills mostly happens on school campuses. By participating in the VILS program we are working to prepare our students for choice-filled lives in an increasingly tech-dependent world, we must start to incorporate teaching those skills in how teach our students.
Tell us your "why" of being a VILS Coach and how you plan to support your teachers and students.
My "why" for being a VILS Coach is because I am passionate about the educational outcomes of the students in our community, and specifically the students we serve within Crescent City Schools. All of our students deserve a high quality education. Thus, I coach because I want to ensure our fantastic teachers continue to grow professionally to ensure they are confident in delivering high quality learning experiences. I collaborate with teachers to understand their goals and determine what technology tools can assist them. I provide support to teachers and students with implementing these technology tools inside of the classroom as teachers strive to meet those goals.
