Course Description:
The Digital Teacher Masterclass – The Graphic Design Playbook is a 2.5-day capacity-building program designed to equip teachers with practical graphic design knowledge and skills for creating clear, engaging, accessible, and professional educational materials. Through interactive discussions, demonstrations, guided hands-on activities, and a culminating design project, participants will learn the fundamentals of visual communication, design principles, typography, color, layout, image use, educational content design, and digital design tools such as Canva.
Objectives:
1. Explain fundamental graphic design principles, including visual hierarchy, color, typography, layout, accessibility, and ethical use of digital assets, and recognize their importance in creating effective educational communication materials.
2. Apply graphic design principles and digital design tools such as Canva to create clear, engaging, accessible, and purposeful educational graphics and communication materials appropriate for teaching and school communication.
3. Demonstrate commitment to ethical, inclusive, accessible, and responsible design practices, including appropriate use and attribution of digital assets and thoughtful consideration of learners' diverse needs when creating educational visual materials.
