ENHANCING WIRELESS PERFORMANCE: WIFI PLANNING & DESIGN/P2P USING ONLINE TOOLS
INFORMATION SESSION WEBINAR
Date of Conduct: August 30, 2025 (Saturday)
Course Description:
This 4-hour course provides a practical introduction to designing high-performance Wi-Fi and point-to-point (P2P) systems. Participants will learn core concepts such as signal propagation, channel planning, and interference mitigation, then apply these through guided exercises using free online tools. The session covers modeling indoor coverage, calculating link budgets, and evaluating P2P viability in different environments, with applications for smart campuses, rural connectivity, and infrastructure improvement projects.
Objectives:
1. Understand key performance factors affecting Wi-Fi and P2P wireless systems, including frequency bands, signal attenuation, and environmental constraints.
2. Analyze wireless design principles such as antenna types, channel reuse, and throughput optimization.
3. Use free online tools to simulate Wi-Fi indoor design coverage and P2P links, including heatmap generation, link budget calculators, and terrain profiling.
4. Design and evaluate wireless networks for specific use cases such as campus-wide connectivity, remote site bridging, and underserved area deployment.
5. Apply technical insights to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency of wireless infrastructure in both urban and rural settings.
