Greetings Ruby Young Personalized STEAM Academy Families,
Our campus will be participating in Solar Eclipse science activities on Monday, April 8th. Please review the parent letter below. We encourage all 4th-8th grade students to wear a hat tomorrow as an extra layer of protection when wearing the eclipse glasses. There will be snack cart on Monday, students can bring extra money if they would like to purchase something. No early pick-up will be allowed on Monday after 12:00PM. Parents/Guardians will not be allowed on campus during the eclipse event. Only parents/guardians who signed up via Voly and received an email from me will be allowed to attend the event. We reached our limit of parent volunteers and the link is now closed.
If you do NOT want your student to participate in the Solar Eclipse viewing (only 4th-8th grade students will view outside), please complete the opt-out form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdhXbb5z9rH22T74NCLKp740e5wgQdm34R4DFL72Nihpomd5w/viewform Kindergarten-3rd grade students will watch the NASA live feed in the cafeteria for safety.
This week is STAAR testing. On Wednesday, our 3rd-5th grade students will take the Reading test. On Thursday, our 6th-8th grade students will take the Reading test. It is important that your student gets a good night's sleep the day before, arrives at school on time, and eats a healthy breakfast. Remember, we need all students in their seats by 8:00AM every day.
Kinder-2nd grade students will participate in CLI engage testing start Monday. It will take place over several days.
There is still time to order a yearbook! Click on this link to order one today using school code - 15180524: https://ybpay.lifetouch.com
We need all students to re-enroll for the 2024-2025 school year. It's critically important that every family in our system commit to completing enrollment and registration as soon as possible for students at every grade level. Please complete your student's registration using this link: https://www.desotoisd.org/about_de_soto_i_s_d/student_enrollment
Please check the Community Resources for job postings, summer activities, and community events.
