Greetings Ruby Young Personalized STEAM Academy Families, 

This week is MAP Beginning of the Year testing. All students K-8 will participate in this testing. Please help us by making sure that your student gets a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time by 8:00am. The results of these tests will allow us to see what level our students are currently performing on. This information will help us best meet their needs.  

Tuesday: 2nd-8th grade Science test

Wednesday: K-8th grade Reading test

Thursday: K-8th grade Math test

Big Kahuna Fundraiser Packets went home last week. We are encouraging all of our students to participate. Make sure your student is turning in their tickets to the front office for a special prize. We hope to have lots of students earning a ride on the party bus by selling 20 items.   

All students went home on Thursday with a blue stapled packet of papers. Please read the contract and demerit forms and sign and return them to the front office.

Middle school families: 

Attention all 6th, 7th and 8th grade young men! We have a special presentation just for the young men on Wednesday, September 6th. We are asking all males to dress professionally on this day. We would like to see them in a dress shirt, slacks and nice shoes. See flyer below for more information. 

Fathers/Male Guardians: If you have any ties, bowties, dress shirts, or slacks that you would like to donate to the school for this event, please let me know. brittany.torres@desotoisd.org or 972-223-6505. 

Our 8th-grade students have an opportunity to attend a College Tour. There are limited seats available. Please see the flyer below for more information.
