Greetings Ruby Young Personalized STEAM Academy Families,
Welcome Back!! We had a successful 1st week of school! We were excited to see returning and new faces. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding this first week. We are continuing to refine our processes to make dismissal even smoother. We look forward to partnering with all our families for a successful school year.
Just a couple of reminders:
School hours are 8:00-3:50, this is a change from last year. Doors open at 7:30 and students need to be in class ready to learn at 8:00.
All students are expected to be in uniform. I have linked the policy below.
The office closes at 3:15 for early pickup. This ensures we have all students accounted for at dismissal.
ALL Ruby Young students receive FREE Breakfast and FREE Lunch everyday!
If your student is in need of school supplies, please email me at brittany.torres@desotoisd.org I have a limited amount of school supplies available.
Middle school families:
Schedule change request forms will be available for pickup in the front office on Wednesday. These are due back on Friday, August 25th (no exceptions).
A Message from the College DRIVEN GEAR UP Team!
Good afternoon parents, and welcome to the start of another amazing school year!
The CDGU team would like to thank all who stopped by our table during Meet the Teacher Night, it was great to connect and chat about your scholar’s future.
If you did not have a chance to stop by our table, attached you will find a QR code with more information about our grant funded program that will service ALL 7th & 8th graders in DeSoto ISD. Students in the cohort class of 2028 & 2029 are automatically added to the program and have equal access to resources, field trips, tutorials, and anything else our program provides to ensure they are college, career or military ready!
Attached you will find a parent survey that we need every family to complete for their scholars. Our CDGU team needs 100% participation from your middle school to ensure we have accurate information to better service you and your scholar. There are some incentives in store for those families who complete the information during the first week of school!
