Mod-e-L : Modular Electronic Learning
Learning is the heart of education where the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience are being taught. Due to the pandemic, the traditional classroom setting has dramatically shifted to blended learning whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms, with the distinctive rise of e-learning. At present, students are learning on their own through their modules.
In Pit-os National High School, learning during the pandemic seems to be ambivalent since students feel that they are not learning with the module alone. Based on the evaluation made during the first quarter, it turned out that the Grade 9 had the greatest number of total pending grades with 187 out of 398 students or 46.98%. Of this number, Grade 9 section Garnet had 35 students comprising the 74.47% of the class population had pending grades. Out of 35 students, 20 do not have grades in MAPEH. Since MAPEH subject has 4 components, it was found out that PE rank first with 16 students. This can be attributed to non-submission of the module answers and other outputs. The team did the follow up and survey and it came out that 10 out of 16 students need immediate support.
It is for this reason that the CI team of Pit-os National High School proposed a project entitled Mod-e-L (Modular electronic learning) to address the gap and to achieve zero percent (0%) pending grades in MAPEH.
