A perhaps not so traditional love story with sub plots going alongside it. The zombies add an extra twist :)
When Audrey meets Harry it seems to be that start of a true hollywood picture romance but is it?
Much to my surprise I really enjoyed this book. While it is essentially a romance, it is set in a girls' spy school. It's quite refreshing to read about girls who are masters of combat, code cracking, stealth etc., having action-packed adventures.
The book is great light entertainment and a quick read, however, this is not a criticism of the author's style. Ally Carter keeps the reader engaged with really nice writing and a good story.
I know, you have probably seen the film already but please take the time to read the novel too! For those of you who enjoyed Fault in our Stars you will love this book. Perhaps not the ideal theme of book to read just now but this story is uplifting, sad, emotional, romantic, even funny in parts.
If you want a story you get involved in straight away then this is the book for you because you will fall in love with the characters instantly. Stella, Will and Poe all bring their own parts to this book. Do you want to know if it has a sad ending? Well, I am not going to tell you because it depends on what you imagine happens next, but for now lets just say, I didn't finish the book in tears...

At a support group for young people with cancer, Hazel meets Augustus. As they get to know one another they agree to read each other's favourite book. Augustus is very dissatisfied with the way in which Hazel's choice ends and he arranges a trip, through a charity, to Amsterdam so Hazel can meet the author, her hero, and they can get answers to the questions they have about his book. However, the meeting does not go as expected but the relationship between Augustus and Hazel deepens.
Although this book is an incredibly moving book it is a story about living and loving and having fun and adventures. It will almost certainly make you cry but at the same time it is, in many ways, uplifting.
Amelie looks back on her relationship with Reese which started after she moved to the south of England. She gradually becomes able to see that what she thought was love was actually cruel and manipulative behaviour by a boy who wanted everything to be about him.
The story flicks between past and present as Amelia tries to put her life back together using techniques given to her by specialist counsellors. Everyone should read this book to discover that abuse doesn't have to be violent and aggressive and can happen in the most outwardly normal seeming relationships.

When a book says on it's cover that it is heart-wrenching, then it does make me wonder if I going to sit through it crying my eyes out but to my amazement I didn't.
To start with, I thought this book was going to be very similar to other books about young people and serious health matters, and indeed there were many times during the story that I feared the worse was going to happen. The author keeps you guessing right until the end with a great surprise.
Not just a romance novel but deals with other relationships with family and friends and has been done extremely well.
