Welcome to Homecoming Week, Raiders!

This year our theme is "Friends - I'll be there for you!". Each grade has been given a section of hallway to decorate, using a popular television show that is centered around friendships. The classes will be raising money to support the staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

HOMECOMING THEME DAYS

Show your school spirit this week and just have fun dressing up with your friends with these theme days!

Decatur High Women's Basketball Tryouts - Oct. 14, 15, and 16 at DHS from 3:30-5:30pm.

Any girls grades 9-12 who are interested in trying our for the 2020-2021 Decatur High Women's Basketball Program should see Coach Moore to sign-up. You can sign-up at room G121 (across from the gym). Any interested player should have an updated DragonFly account and updated physical. See Coach Moore if you have any questions

Voting for the DHS homecoming king has begun.

To vote, please donate your spare change in your king candidate's jar in the cafeteria during lunch. Additional donations may be brought to Ms. Whitmire. All money collected will go towards this year's homecoming purpose which is the staff of the Decatur Morgan Hospital. The last day to vote is on Wednesday, October 8th.

Please support your Lady Raiders Basketball Team by ordering Marco's Pizza Wednesday October 7th. 10:30am - 10pm.

The DHS Scholar’s Bowl will be hosting tryouts next week!

Students you should have received an email from Mrs. Howard with sign up information. If you have any questions email Mrs. Howard or stop by A103 2nd through 4th block.

Good luck to the DHS Swim Team at their meet in Cullman on Tuesday, October 6th.

The DHS Sports and Entertainment Marketing class is creating an entertainment broadcast that will PREMIERE December 11, 2020 @ 6:00 pm Central!

The School Duel episode will feature a male and female student, and staff volleyball game challenge. Please go to your email and nominate one male and one female student from your grade and one male and one female faculty/staff member to participate! Voting closes at 1:00 Friday, October 9th!

If you are interested in participating in DARC this year please email michael.funk@dcs.edu.

DARC will be all online this year. We will have virtual competitions. There will be many fun things this year, such as playing minecraft. Also, you will have opportunities to design your own program and drive the robot. If you are interested in participating please email Mr. Funk by October 9, 2020.

The Guidance Counselors will be testing and away from the office starting Tuesday October 6th through Friday October 9th.

Please do not send students to the Guidance Office on these days.

Students can make an appointment online and the Counselors will get back to them when they are available. Thank you!

Decatur High School Soccer is raising money for the upcoming season.

Technology Replacement

For the 2020-21 school year, DCS will be charging for the replacement of a lost Chromebook or charger. The replacement cost for a lost Chromebook is $250 and for a lost charger is $20.

If your Chromebook has been stolen please see the school resource officer.

SCHEDULE YOUR SENIOR PORTRAIT

SENIOR PORTRAITS

Senior portraits will be taken at DHS in November for those who do not have the opportunity to schedule a session in Huntsville at Prestige Portraits. Senior portraits for the yearbook must be made by this company. School session will only include tuxedo/drape photos and will NOT include cap and gown or casual sitting. These are available at the studio in Huntsville.
