Prom Information

IF YOU ARE BRINGING A DATE WHO DOES NOT ATTEND DECATUR HIGH YOU MUST MUST MUST TURN IN A PROM GUEST PERMISSION FORM. THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MONDAY, MAY 3RD. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Purchase tickets by April 23rd

Prom is open to juniors and seniors and their dates. Dates may be from another high school if the Prom Guest Permission Form is received by April 30th.

Look for a prom t-shirt order form to go out soon!

Tickets may be purchased with Ms. Hurst in the library or through EPay. Prom Guest Forms are located next to the circulation desk.

Hey Seniors, the Junior Class is throwing you a party! IT'S THE JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM! TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW! The theme this year is "A Mid-Summer Night's Dream" and is being held May 8th. Lead out starts at 6:30 at the Old State Bank. Prom is immediately following in the DHS Courtyard. There will be: Music by DJ Reggie, dancing and Bama-Q Food Truck, so bring some money. You may purchase tickets online through epay or with Ms. Hurst in the library. Tickets are $50 for one or $90 for two. Deadline to purchase tickets has been extended to Monday, May 3rd. Also, any student bringing a date who attends a high school other than DHS must turn in a "Prom Guest Permission Form" to Ms. Hurst by May 3rd (NO EXCEPTIONS - ALL FORMS MUST BE IN BY MONDAY AND MUST MUST BE SIGNED BY PRINCIPAL OF GUEST'S SCHOOL). The forms are located on the website, in the newsletter, in the library, main office, and guidance. THIS WILL BE A VERY SPECIAL EVENING SO DON'T MISS OUT! Purchase your tickets today!!


The Decatur High School Drama Department will present Alice in Wonderland on April 29th at 7pm, April 30th at 7pm, and May 1st at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are $7.00 and will be sold at GoFan.co. Due to Covid restrictions, only Decatur High School employees may enter for free with their badge. If you are a DHS teacher or staff member and would like to attend the play, please email Mrs. Park with the date and time you’d like to attend.


DHS basketball tryouts will be May 19-20 from 3:45-5:30. This is for all rising 9th thru 12th graders, all Dragonfly paperwork must be complete in order to tryout.


The Scholars Bowl team is selling bundt cakes until April 27th. See a Scholars Bowl member or Mrs. Howard to place your order!


Exciting news! There will be two discounted school performances of Alice in Wonderland on Friday, April 30th. Tickets will be $5.00 and can be purchased during your lunch wave starting the week of the show. Juniors and seniors may attend the 8:30 performance while freshmen and sophomores may attend the 1:30 performance. Students must present their ticket to their teacher in order to be excused from class.


Stop by your DHS Redstone Federal Credit Union branch on Thursdays this month to create your own accounts. If you are 16 or older, all you need is a photo ID and to know your social security number. See you Thursday!


Hello Red Raiders! Decatur High’s Sports Entertainment and Marketing Class here. We are premiering Episode Two of our Campus Tour series on May 3rd at 6:00 pm. Please tell your friends and family to watch the show and help us win $1000!


HOSA will be hosting a spring food & fund drive starting April 28th and ending on May 7th. We have two ways for you to be involved. 1) Donate canned food items to our collection boxes in E201 & the cafeteria 2) Donate $1 to guess how much candy is in a jar. $1 will provide almost seven meals. Those meals go to the needy, ill ,and children of North Alabama, free of charge! The student with the closest guess to the right amount of candy wins the jar of candy! You can donate and take your guess during lunch and anytime in room E201. Make a difference. Get involved.


This year's spring ceramic sale for the AIM program of Decatur High will be open to the public on Thursday, May 6th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lots of decorative and useful ceramics will be found under the awnings outside the AIM Department. Please support these students' hard work and spread the word!


DHS Mascot interviews will be held on Wednesday, May 12 . If you are interested in being the next DHS mascot, please stop by Mrs. Godwin's Room 212 to pick up your application packet. GO RAIDERS!


Are you in need of a prom dress? Go to the AIM Developmental Program office on the bottom floor of the island. There are over 5o dresses in different sizes to look through. If you find one you will keep please consider making a $5 donation to the AIM program


Yearbooks are on sale and the deadline is extended - money is due by May 15th. THERE WILL BE NO EXTRA BOOKS ORDERED THIS YEAR SO GET YOUR ORDER IN ASAP.

Technology Replacement

For the 2020-21 school year, DCS will be charging for the replacement of a lost Chromebook or charger. The replacement cost for a lost Chromebook is $250 and for a lost charger is $20.

If your Chromebook has been stolen please see the school resource officer.
