Internship
Internship
Internship allows for future leaders to gain experience and an understanding of the different aspects of educational leadership and administration. It is experience that will solidify skills and traits it takes to be building leaders, and to meet all of the eight NELP standards that assist in preparing high quality leaders.
This artifact is documentation of the 400+ clinical hours completed, that show competency in the 8 NELP standards. It has reflections, a wide range of clinical hours in different areas of education. It was completed over the course of the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years.
This artifact demonstrates my proficiency of standard 8 by showing the many examples of leadership work that I have done in the past 2 years. I gained a wide variety of experiences that helped to better prepare me for my future leadership roles. From professional development, school board meetings, and interviews, I was able to see the different areas where an effective leader needs to be qualified in.
This artifact is a presentation completed during EDL 279 in the spring of 2023. It discusses a current opportunity for growth within my current system, and the steps I will be taking to make those improvements along with the collaboration of other stakeholders.
To show proficiency in standard 8, I worked with two different mentors in the area of MTSS. I worked with a principal in the Waukee Community School District, and a principal in the Dallas Center Grimes Community School District. Together we discussed possible action steps to take to improve our tier two of our MTSS system. They then assisted me in taking the next steps towards this improvement.
