Standard 2
Ethics and Professional Norms
Ethics and Professional Norms
In order to be an effective leader, one must be able to cultivate a culture with their students, staff, and community that encompasses ethical and professional norms throughout every aspect. This needs to be done from day 1, and needs to be understood by all that it is the norm. One could lead to collective commitment by allowing workforce and customer voices to be heard, and respected.
For this artifact, I interviewed 3 leaders, in 3 different areas. I then wrote a paper detailing the interviews, the similarities, and the differences. This was done during EDL 270, in the fall of 2021.
Having the opportunity to hear from leaders who are in completely different fields, was an eye opening experience. This artifact demonstrates my efficiency of standard 2 due to the fact that I was able to hear the importance of ethics and professional norms in these interviews and reflect on them. As a leader it is our job to set the standard with ethics, as well as ensuring our staff are meeting those standards that are set with the law.
For this artifact, I wrote a paper discussing the traits, skills, and characteristics of a highly effective instructional leader. This was conducted during EDL 273, during the summer semester of 2022.
Two of the many needed traits/characteristics of a highly effective instructional leader are maintaining ethics and professional norms. This artifact demonstrates proficiency of standard 2, due to the fact that all of the skills, traits, and characteristics discussed in this paper must be done to an ethical and professional level.
