Community and External Leadership
Community and External Leadership
Part of being a highly effective leader in a school requires strong community partnerships and external leadership. The community is a part of the customer base, and as stakeholders, those relationships need to be well built and solid. These relationships will build a system that is based on trust and collaboration.
For this artifact, I completed the Baldrige Framework to my current system to identify areas of strength and areas in need of improvement. This was completed in the spring of 2022, during EDL 272.Â
This artifact demonstrates my proficiency in community and external leadership by digging into the customer area of the Baldrige framework. The customers are made up of students, families, and community members. It is important for a building leader to seek their input, and allow the customers to have a stake in the system they are a part of.
This artifact is a weekly newsletter that gets sent out to the parents of my students. It is a simple form of communication that happens on Fridays of each week throughout the school year.
This artifact demonstrates my proficiency in standard 5, by showing just one of many ways there is communication with parents/guardians. As a building leader, I would continue with this type of communication by having a newsletter that would go out to all of the family members of my building. This would ensure that those stakeholders are reached and involved in the happenings of the building.
