Sanjeevani

The annual festival ‘SANJEEVANI 2024’ organized by The Botanical Society “VRINDA” of Deshbandhu College, was held on 19th & 20th March, 2024. 

The Botanical Society VRINDA of the Department of Botany, Deshbandhu College, successfully organized its Annual Fest “Sanjeevani 2026” on 20th February 2026 with great zeal, enthusiasm, and active participation. The programme was graciously presided over by Principal Prof. Rajendra Kumar Pandey, Vice Principal Prof. Sunil Kayesth, and IQAC Coordinator Prof. Anand Kumar. The occasion was further enriched by the esteemed presence of distinguished retired faculty members, Dr. Eklavya Chauhan and Mrs. Anand Wadhera, along with faculty members and students of the Department of Botany.

The event commenced on an auspicious note with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through knowledge. This was followed by a soulful Saraswati Vandana, the rendition of the University Kulgeet, and an Eco-Pledge reaffirming the collective commitment to environmental conservation. The inaugural segment was beautifully complemented by graceful classical dance performances presented by the students, adding cultural elegance to the occasion.

“Sanjeevani 2026” served as a dynamic platform to foster scientific temperament, promote environmental consciousness, and strengthen inter-collegiate collaboration among students. The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 colleges across Delhi and NCR, bringing together approximately 160 participants. Notably, 70 participants represented institutions other than Deshbandhu College, highlighting the expanding outreach and growing reputation of the fest beyond the host institution.

The fest featured a diverse array of intellectually stimulating and creative inter-college competitions centered on botany, biodiversity, sustainability, and environmental conservation. The event was followed by a screening of the inspiring documentary “The Forest Man.” The schedule featured a series of engaging inter-college competitions including Ink Your Instinct (On-the-Spot Botanical Writing), BOTANI-Q (Quiz Competition), PHOTO-SYNTHESIS (Photography Competition), The Living Canvas (Leaf Art Competition), and The Chlorophyll Chase (Treasure Hunt). Each competition was evaluated by esteemed faculty members and subject experts, ensuring transparency, fairness, and constructive feedback. Throughout the day, participants displayed exceptional creativity, scientific aptitude, critical thinking, and teamwork.

The fest provided an invaluable opportunity for students to exchange ideas, showcase their talents, and enhance both academic and interpersonal skills. The overwhelming response from participating colleges significantly contributed to the vibrancy and success of the event.

The program culminated in a prize distribution ceremony and a group photograph, where winners were felicitated with certificates and awards in recognition of their excellence. Botanical society coordinator Dr. Anjana Singh for session 2025-26 expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participating institutions, respected faculty members, dedicated volunteers, and students for their unwavering support and cooperation. “Sanjeevani 2026” concluded on a triumphant note, reinforcing academic bonds among institutions and reaffirming the vital role of botanical sciences in promoting environmental sustainability and ecological awareness.

The annual fest ‘SANJEEVANI 2022’ was held on 20th April 2022. The event was organised by the Botanical society ‘VRINDA’ , department of Botany, Deshbandhu college, University of Delhi. The entire event was held under the supervision of the Patron Dr. Rajiv Aggarwal, Soceity advisor  Dr. Sunita Mallik, teacher incharge Dr. Aparna Nautiyal, the teacher coordinators as well as student coordinators from Department of Botany.

It was a colourful event with different activities arranged for the students. Entries were open to all the undergraduate and postgraduate students from different universities. Thrilling and exciting activities organised were Leaf painting and Poster making competition, Treasure Hunt, and Talent Hunt. More than 150 students participated in the activities .
