General Skills: A Slice of Life

I woke up to the birds, brushed my teeth, made lunch, walked to school, adapted to the personalities on the bus,  learned English/French, day-dreamed, broke things, played at playground, got into trouble, fought with the boys, hit and was hit,  chased the girls with bees, made and broke rules, fell down, got up, tried new things

School Groups and Subjects:

computer class, curling, baseball, football, weightlifting, school musicals, a trip to France, school trips,  some trauma along the way, brush it off, walk it off, live and learn, been there and done that. #grad98

Roles: 10 years

• • Teacher - was a teacher of children

  • Leaner - Learned to help children aspire to be students

    • Itdi TESOL X3

  • Web Developer - Built a website for Burton School

    • Wordpress with an LMS, CRM, h5p and more

  • Curriculum Designer - Developed a program for children

  • Story Teller - Told interesting stories

  • Promoter - Promoted the school

  • Cleaner - Cleaned the school daily

  • Publisher - Published monthly content

  • Principal - Reflected on the direction and philosophy

Duties: 5 years

• • Taught young learners

  • Designed themed course to meet school's learning objectives

  • Developed, implemented and reflected upon multilevel content and instruction

  • Participated in team teaching, coteaching, and collaboration with foreign and Korean staff.

  • Hosted a website for students to download homework and participate in extra-curricular learning. 

Duties: 5 years

• Taught very young learners

• Researched different teaching philosophies and documented the methodologies into a reference book for teachers

• Delegated responsibilities and at monthly staff meeting

• Interviewed and recruited potential teachers

• Conducted mini-workshops for teacher

Jobs at home:

Worked for dad and mom, cut grass, shoveled snow, washed dishes, did laundry, cooked things, took out the garbage, climbed up on the roof, washed the floor, cleaned the truck, learned to be helpful

Jobs in the community:

I was a janitor, a clerk at the movie store, and a bee farmer. I learned to be helpful where I could do a good job.
