Math Summer Work Grade 9 

The Danbury STEM department shares this work with you to support your learning throughout the summer.  

It is our expectation that you practice skills associated with math so that you are best prepared for learning in the fall. In order to practice we encourage students, except incoming ninth graders and AP students, see below for your assignments, to work on Khan Academy Getting Ready Courses.

We believe all students are capable of performing at their best when they continuously learn to improve upon their skills.

Grade 9 Students -

Students completing Grade 8 have received a Math at Home Summer Learning Kit from their current math teacher. The kit is designed to help students review and reinforce the skills they learned during the school year. Please note that the kit corresponds to the grade level your child just completed, not the grade they will be entering in the fall.

We encourage students to work through the entire booklet over the summer. However, the "Model It" section is the only required assignment each week.

At the beginning of the new school year, teachers will review the completed Model It sections with students. One section will be checked each day, and students will receive a homework grade for completing each required Model It activity.

To support learning, each week also includes optional resources from Khan Academy and CK-12. Students can access CK-12 by signing in with their school Google account.

Students who took Algebra 1 in eighth grade need to complete this Summer Packet, which includes resources and additional practice. At the beginning of the new school year, teachers will review the completed packet with the  students. The completed packet will receive a homework grade.

AP Students - 

Please complete the specific assignments for your course that can be found here or on the DHS website.
