Meet the Rescue Team! The rescue team is a mix between volunteers who are boots on the ground evaluating, and visiting animals at the shelter, and then volunteers who are working to keep our Dogs in Need and Cats In Need Trello boards up to date! If there is ever an animal at a shelter partner that you are curious if DPA can tag email tag@dallaspetsalive.org with the animal's A# and what shelter they are at.

Hello! I have been with DPA since late 2013, I'm an OG for sure! I have fostered dozens of dogs and kittens, as well as a VERY cranky cat. Haha! I am always looking to foster seniors or major medical cases, that is where my heart is always drawn. I enjoy animal photography, hanging with my husband, cooking, and of course animal advocacy!
Currently, I have 4 adopted dogs and an adorable foster dog. It is always complete chaos at our house, but that just makes life more fun!
Brigette Beach
Rescue Admin (co-admin, Irving)
With over a decade of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician, Brigette dedicated years to volunteering with numerous rescue organizations and even led the medical team at a busy shelter, where she played a key role in providing care for hundreds of animals in need.
Her commitment to rescue work extended beyond borders—traveling to Mexico to support vaccine clinics and spay/neuter efforts in underserved communities. After relocating to Texas in 2025, Brigette felt something was missing and sought out a new rescue family. That search led her to Dallas Pets Alive, where she now serves as Shelter Administrator, helping to ensure every animal receives the care, compassion, and second chance they deserve.
When not volunteering, you can usually find Brigette bird watching, reading a book with a good cup of coffee, playing DnD, as well as spending time with her dog Volta and her family.

Hi! I’m Kristy a CPA, yoga lover, and official dog crazy person. My senior pup Zoe made me fall in love with dogs and I’ve been volunteering with animals since 2021.
My favorite thing to do is find a pup in the back room of DAS who looks nervous and help them open up, bit by bit. Even better, I love coming back a few weeks later and see they are a social butterfly!

Hi my name is Megan Farinha and I’m currently in the process of attending veterinary school! I have traveled all over the world doing the most random jobs but truly doing what I love and am passionate about! Which is advocating for animals and educating! I’m so excited to be apart of the DPA team!
