Dallas Pets Alive! Prides itself on providing the very best adoption experience.

We'd love to hear from you on Facebook Reviews. Please visit our Facebook to share your story!

Please take a few moments to fill out our adoption survey. We are always looking to improve.

Let us know if you have any questions and please send an update on how your pet is doing and pictures at any time!

Our Alumni team is always here to help with advice or support you might need. You can email them at alumni@dallaspetsalive.org

Microchip Information

Our system, ShelterLuv, will automatically update your contact information to the pet's microchip. This information is the information that you provided on the application. You will also receieve an additional email from 24PetWatch to set up an account. This is important to do to keep the microchip information up to date. DPA will ALWAYS stay as a second contact on the chip, but we encourage you to add additional emergency contact(s) as needed. Please note the company will try to sign up for a subscription or pay a fee. Having your pet microchipped and keeping the information up to date is FREE, do not feel the need to purchase this if not necessary.

Medical Records

When your adoption is finalized, your pet's adoption counselor will email all medical paperwork on file through our ShelterLuv system. If for some reason you have not received medical paperwork, please reach out to your adoption counselor or our Alumni team at alumni@dallaspetsalive.org and we can resend the medical records.

Returning and/or Rehoming Your Adopted Pet

We understand that life changes, emergencies happen, and family dynamics change. Prior to adopting a pet we do ask that you have a plan for your adopted animal in these various scenarios. This is why we ask in our adoption application who will assume ownership of the pet if you are not able to.

Dallas Pets Alive is a foster-based rescue and unfortunately we do not have a facility, shelter, or kennel to house animals.
