Meet The Team!

Let's take a look at the faces behind the scenes of The Scroll and the team that makes your Scrolling experience so grand and memorable!

THE SCROLL OFFICERS

Milan Geurin

The Scroll President, Chief Digital Editor, & Writer

Welcome Scrollians. My name is Milan, and I'm the general-chaos controller of The Scroll. I'm in charge of everything from formatting entire issues to editing. This is my fourth year on The Scroll (back when it was still printed), and my third year as its president. I'm also an officer of three other clubs, maintain a job, am a chronic extrovert, and have multiple AP classes-- so you can imagine I like to keep pretty busy! On my rare days off, you can find me watching trashy reality-TV and serenading my cats with Dolly Parton songs. Out of all the things I do, writing is near and dear to me so I'm grateful to be leading such a flourishing community!

I'm so proud of the team I'm leading and am in awe of all the amazing student-voices The Scroll gets to provide a platform for. I hope anyone reading this can find some joy in the content The Scroll team creates. Thank you for taking the time to support us!

Happy Scrolling!

Sean Glover

The Scroll Vice President & Community Events/Satirical Writer

Hey, funky Scroll readers! I’m Sean, and I’m a senior here at GPHS. I have been rolling with The Scroll club since my sophomore year, existing as an absolute menace to my co-club members. I’m loud, unbearable, bubbly, but most importantly, loveable. This may be due to my constant involvement with theatre at the high school and within the community (if you get to know me, you’ll soon realize that takes up most of my personality). Despite my inane antics, I’d say I’m extremely driven. I’ve completed multiple AP courses so far, juggled my involvement in three theatre productions at the same time, excelled in choir-- all while looking absolutely stunning in the process.

If you feel the courage and need to talk or get ahold of me, my most direct form of communication is s.glover@d7apps.gp.k12.or.us

I hope you all find yourselves in a fun, comfortable environment and enjoy your time here perusing The Scroll. :)

Deenie Bulyalert

The Scroll Public Relations Director

Hey, beautiful people! My name is Deenie. Weird name, I know, but it's kind of cool. You may or may not know me, but I am currently a Junior at Grants Pass High School and a writer here at The Scroll. Also, your new friend, if you wanna be.

If you are a recurring reader, then you have definitely seen my name around. I write articles and interview people for our monthly mental health column and I also take on other projects, here and there.

I am pretty involved in the school, being part of 5 other clubs and an officer of 3, but being part of The Scroll has allowed me to come out of my comfort zone. I have been able to start being myself while doing things I love and I really adore being part of this team.

I love talking to people and understanding what makes them, them. If you need/want to contact me or talk to me about my dinosaur obsession, my email is p.bulyalert@d7apps.gp.k12.or.us

Stay kind, you’re amazing, and have fun reading :)

Hey Scroll readers! I’m Pooja Patel, a senior here at Grants Pass High School. Many of you may know me from Leadership, National Honors Society, HOSA, or as your ASB secretary. I am also taking three AP classes this year, so school is a huge part of my life.

I am a political writer who covers many controversial issues that are important to be discussed in our community. This is my second year being part of this club, and I had a very fun time. I have stepped out of my comfort zone to bring various types of content to you, so I hope you enjoy reading the articles.

Anna Walker

Journalist

Hello lovely people!! My name is Anna Walker. I am a sophomore at GP, and this is my second year writing for The Scroll. If you have read The Scroll before, then you might have seen some of my articles. This year, you will hopefully see a lot more of me through our new monthly column "Table Talk," our podcast about everything from controversial issues to upcoming school events and pop culture, and True Beauty, a photojournalism column highlighting people we find truly beautiful around our school. I love empowering others through writing, and helping everyone feel welcome when reading The Scroll. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I hope that you will be able to read or listen to my work here on The Scroll. I am always open to any suggestions, ideas, or constructive criticism you may have for The Scroll as well as topic ideas for Table Talk. You can contact me at a.walker3@d7apps.gp.k12.or.us Have a beautiful day. <3

Teagan Mcnamara

Photojournalist & Informative Journalist

Hey, peeps! My name is Teagan, and I’m a sophomore here at Grants Pass High School. I am a photojournalist, informative and environmental writer for The Scroll. This is my second year of being part of Journalism: The Scroll. I've always had a passion and excelled at writing from a young age, which still applies. I think this is the right class for me and many other people. I also enjoy reading, photography, and drawing, which I hope to incorporate in The Scroll.

Check out our articles each month and give feedback. We have an astonishing Scroll team here at GPHS, and I recommend joining us to make more amazing articles. If you would like to contact me, my email is @t.mcnamara@d7apps.gp.k12.or.us

Thank you for supporting and reading The Scroll, and I hope you enjoy =)

Hailie Zintzun

Writer

Hello, there! My name is Hailie Zintzun, and I am a sophomore here at Grants Pass High School. I greatly enjoy writing, and am glad I have the opportunity to share my passion by being a journalist for The Scroll. I like to write about whatever interests me, so you’ll see a little bit of everything in my articles. Another thing I enjoy is music. I have been in orchestra since fourth grade, and don’t plan on quitting anytime soon. In my free time, I like to play the violin, get caught up in a good book, and rewatch all the Harry Potter and Star Wars movies. But my favorite thing of all is spending time with those I care for. If there is one piece of advice I can give, it is never to underestimate the power of literature!

Christofer Miramontes

Photojournalist

My name is Christofer Miramontes, and I'm a 12th grader and one of the photographers for The Scroll.

I enjoy taking pictures of scenery and people, and I am also involved in the marching band here at GPHS, playing the Quads. If I'm not doing much in a day, I'll either attempt to catch up on homework or play video games. I mostly want to be a photographer after high school to capture landscape and possible wedding pictures.

Abigail Woody

Journalist

Hey, guys! My name is Abigail Woody. I am a journalist, and I write surveys for The Scroll.

I enjoy getting feedback from all of you guys through surveys. I like to write about real world problems because they intrigue me. I currently have a job, so I'm always busy between school and work. When I do have free time, I like to relax as much as possible. I always try to make time for my friends because I find it important to spend as much time with people who you care about. I do enjoy binge watching cringey shows and movies just to get a good laugh, but sometimes I turn it off because I get second hand embarrassment. If I had one word of advice for you, I would say to live life to the fullest because you never want to look back on something and regret not doing it.

You can always email me if you have ideas for survey or a real world problems article. I would love to hear your guys input. If you would like to put in an input on either of those things, then my email is a.woody@d7apps.gp.k12.or.us .

Shani Grounds

Journalist, Silent Genius, Editor

Howdy, lovely Scrollians! My name is Shani Grounds, and I am the silent genius behind The Scroll school newspaper (or at least I would like to think so). I love to quietly edit and format The Scroll’s upcoming issue at the end of every month to alleviate much of the stress off of other members’ shoulders. I also write pretty much anything I want for The Scroll, so please enjoy my large variety of works. Although I do not hold an officer position, The Scroll family makes me feel like a valuable asset to the team. For that, I will be forever grateful to have been a part of this amazing group!

As a senior at GPHS, I am also a part of extracurriculars other than The Scroll. I am currently in the National Honor Society and I volunteer at our local food bank, the Josephine County Food Bank. I also work during the summer at Hellgate Jetboat Excursions. I used to be a part of Dance & Guard at GPHS, but COVID hit and I could not uphold my involvement in it anymore.
