STANDARD 3 – LEARNING RESOURCES
SUPPORT MATERIAL, CONSISTENT WITH BOTH PROGRAM GOALS AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES, SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO STAFF AND STUDENTS.
3.1 SERVICE INFORMATION
Service information with current manufacturer’s service procedures and specification data for vehicles manufactured within the last ten (10) years should be available. This information should be accessible to students in the lab/shop area.
A. Identify your Electronic Service Information and where it is available for students. AllData (discontinued 2021), SNAPOn-scanner tool, YouTube, Google for referencing vehicle specific information. Chrombooks are used to access online media, while the SNAPOn tool is located in the shop for student use.
3.2 MULTIMEDIA
Appropriate up-to-date multimedia materials and technology should be readily available and utilized in the training process.
A. Describe or include photos of appropriate up-to-date multimedia technology and equipment that is utilized in the training process. Both schools utilize wide and varied instructional materials including, but not limited to: textbooks (both in print and online), videos, guest speakers, field trips (I.E. Auto Show), hands-on learning tools (mainly the physical vehicles and parts used in the lab to demonstrate and provide hands-on learning for students). Photo Example
B. Describe the availability of multimedia equipment and materials for instructional purposes: Multimedia equipment is readily available in the Auto Classroom including a TV Monitor and projector as well as a teacher laptop. This allows the instructor to project training videos and class-share important information. Materials such as textbooks, magazines, and Automotive how-to guides are also available for student use.
3.3 STUDENT RESOURCES
Pertinent instructional texts, resources, and e-learning materials should be available for each student to satisfy the objectives of the mode of instruction used. Basic and specialty learning resources should have copyright dates that are not over six (6) years old.

B. Describe the availability of general and technical automotive magazines, newspapers, and websites for student and instructor use in terms of being current. Students have online access to Tomorrow' s Technician (Magazine) as well as utilize YouTube for an up-to-date media source for problem solving and addressing a wide range of vehicle types. They also have access to the online portion of Automotive Technology: Principles, Diagnosis, and Service, allowing access to various apps and training guides.
