This time, I visited a mango tourist factory in Fangshan. When I arrived, the sun wasn't too strong, and there was a sunset breeze, so a cool breeze blew by from time to time. The owner was very welcoming and provided a very efficient and clear explanation. He explained that Fangshan's climate is dry and hot, with rain only during the plum rain season and typhoons. The moisture comes from the Bashi Channel, and the soil has good drainage, making it ideal for growing mangoes. Each mango tree is covered with a bag, called a bagging, to prevent oriental fruit flies from laying eggs inside the fruit.
Each mango tree is intentionally kept low to increase efficiency, facilitate harvesting, and reduce the risk of injury while climbing ladders. I also learned that Irwin mangoes are imported from Florida, USA. The mangoes here are all naturally ripened, ensuring their natural flavor and nutrients. This visit was very beneficial, and it made me realize that every crop is the result of farmers' hard work and effort, allowing us to enjoy delicious food.

This visit to the mango factory in Fangshan gave me a deeper understanding of the southern fruit industry. Fangshan's hot climate and abundant sunshine make it ideal for mango cultivation, and its mangoes are renowned for their rich aroma and smooth texture. During the visit, we saw the mango processing area, with many different types of machinery. Factory staff explained that they bag their mangoes because Oriental fruit flies lay eggs there, and bagging ensures that each mango reaches consumers in optimal condition.
What particularly impressed me was that the local mango variety isn't native; it was introduced during the Dutch colonization in the 16th and 17th centuries. Fangshan's Irwin mangoes come from Florida, USA. They are suitable for mango cultivation due to their warm climate and abundant sunshine, well-drained soil, low frost risk, favorable wind conditions and ocean influence, and local agricultural experience and technical support.
Through this visit, I not only learned about mango pest and disease control but also gained a greater appreciation for the hard work involved in producing agricultural products and developed a deeper respect for the farmers' labor.

This time, we visited the Fangshan Mango Tourist Factory. The weather was unexpectedly cool that day, making the whole trip even more comfortable and enjoyable. Upon arrival, the owner warmly welcomed us and meticulously introduced us to the characteristics and background of Fangshan. He said that Fangshan, located at the southern tip of Pingtung, is in a tropical region with long hours of sunshine, little rainfall, and well-drained soil, making it one of the most suitable places in Taiwan for growing mangoes.
Especially the Irwin mangoes here, which are not only fragrant but also very sweet, making them very popular. The owner also shared the origin of mangoes and their history in Taiwan, allowing me to better understand the story behind this fruit. Furthermore, he answered many of our questions about mangoes, such as why Fangshan is suitable for growing them, the impact of pruning branches on mango yield, and how to control pests.
These were all very practical and interesting questions. This visit wasn't just about enjoying delicious mango popsicles; it also taught me a lot about mango cultivation and local culture. I also have greater admiration for the farmers who work hard to cultivate mangoes, because behind every fruit lies a wealth of sweat and dedication.

The mangoes from Fangshan are all carefully cultivated and grown without pesticides by local farmers. Therefore, their mangoes are delicious, juicy, and flavorful.
Fangshan Leisure Farm's signature products include not only mangoes but also mango popsicles/smoothies, and most impressively, mango wine.
Their mango wine uses locally grown, ripe mangoes from Fangshan as raw material, undergoing fermentation and brewing processes to preserve the original aroma and flavor of the mangoes. This is their signature product. From fresh fruit to various processed products, they maintain the most natural flavor and quality, allowing consumers to experience the unique charm and dedication of Fangshan mangoes.
