Art is a visual documentation human experience. Humans have made art since prehistoric times. As a species we have always found ways to express our inner worlds through the process of art-making! We will explore our individual inner worlds and the world around us using the themes: Sense of Self, Sense of Place and Time, Sense of Community and Global Citizenship. I look forward to making art with you this year!

AH-WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

About me

Hello Echo Valley Artists, I am Ms. Winters! I am so excited to be teaching art for Echo Valley! I began my career in art as a photographer. I have a Bachelor of Science in Photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and spent 10 years working as a portrait and free-lance photographer before pursuing a career in Art Education. This is my 8th year teaching art. I have a Master of Arts in Art Education from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. I spent three years teaching art in elementary school in Columbus, GA and 3 years teaching middle and high school art at the American United School of Kuwait. Since moving to Vermont in July of 2019, I served as a long-term sub in art at Union Elementary in Montpelier, Vermont. I love to travel!! I have lived in 7 different states in the US, and have traveled to 26 different countries! I lived in Kuwait for three years while teaching at the American United School of Kuwait. When I left Kuwait, I took a year off from teaching to travel and study yoga in Bali, Indonesia, Mysore, India and Koh Phangan, Thailand. I am also a certified yoga teacher. I completed a 500+ hour teacher training course in Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore, India in October of 2018. I look forward to sharing my love of art and culture with the students of Echo Valley.
