Elements

of Art

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Kindergarten through second grade will focus on the foundational skills of art. We will practice our fine motor skills, and create art with a variety of tools and techniques. Students will become familiar with the foundational mediums of art, drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and sculpture. We will begin to explore and become familiar with the elements of art.

3rd and 4th Grade

In 3rd and 4th grade we will dive deeper into context in art. We will begin to explore the themes that we will focus on in Middle School, sense of self, sense of place, sense of community and global citizenship. Students will utilize the knowledge acquired in Kindergarten - 2nd grade to create creative and innovative works of art.
