Department of Health guidelines limit the number of students on a school bus. In order to meet this requirements, the transportation department will be developing new route plans. All families who plan to use CVSD transportation will be required to sign up.
Where necessary we will create more bus stops to minimize the number of students waiting together. We will promote physical distance between students at bus stops.
Windows in the bus should be kept open except in unusual circumstances. Students should wear appropriate clothing in the event of cold or drizzly weather.
To support required contact tracing, students will be assigned a seat on the bus and attendance will be taken.
Students will be required to have a completed a temperature screening prior to being allowed to board the bus. All students are required to wear facial coverings on the bus and sanitize their hands before entering.
Bus drivers are required to wear facial coverings while transporting students.
Alternatives to bussing to reduce the number of students riding the bus include:
We encourage parents/caregivers or other designated adults to transport their children, whenever possible, to minimize the number of students on the bus.
We encourage students to walk or bike to school, if it is safe to do so.
Cleaning and disinfecting:
Buses will be cleaned and sanitized each night and between runs with different passengers
We will routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including surfaces in the driver cockpit commonly touched by the operator.
Drivers will clean their hands regularly.
All buses will have an adequate supply of hand sanitizer.
If there is a known or suspected case of COVID-19 that has been transported, we will follow CDC Guidance.
