Students will be broken into one of two groups, with each attending in-person classes two days a week and learning offsite/remotely three days a week.
While some of the learning on offsite/remote days will likely be asynchronous, teachers and administrators are working on schedules and systems to ensure students will receive instruction from classroom teachers every day, regardless of whether they are participating in-person or offsite/remotely.
Students across all grades will be learning offsite/remotely on Wednesdays. We will use this day to provide a mid-week clean of our buildings, offer individualized support to students, and allow our faculty and staff to engage in professional planning and learning in the afternoon.
The placement of students began by dividing students by last name, A-K and L-Z first. We used the alphabet split to ensure that families can follow the same schedule. (A-K: Mon/Tues and L-Z: Thurs/Fri) The district is making every effort to group families together whenever possible.
After that, our schools refined classes based on various criteria to create the most balanced, heterogeneous groups. We worked with families to help meet their needs, especially those with special circumstances.
After the placement of students was determined, families were notified, and had an opportunity to work with schools to make any needed changes.
