The Ridgeline HS Wind Symphony is our top band at RHS. It is open to all interested 10th - 12th grade students, and has a rigorous audition process to select the most prepared students. The Ridgeline Wind Symphony will represent the highest level of excellence in our music ensembles as well as support and foster the growth of other musicians developing here at Ridgeline. Students are focused on perfecting the critical ensemble listening concepts of high-level music-making. Students will pursue the most exciting literature of the traditional and contemporary wind band repertoire.
We will share our music at various concerts throughout the year, including four campus concerts, the Lilac Parade, and numerous other outreach opportunities for students to perform. Marching Band is not a requirement of any Wind Symphony students, it is a total extra-curricular. Wind Symphony members will be expected to enter the WIAA/WMEA Solo/Ensemble Regional Competition each Winter.
We will certainly enrich this page with more details as our school year develops. This is going to be a fantastic music-making opportunity for all Falcons to feel welcome in and to create a new, and exciting community. Welcome to the Ridgeline HS Wind Symphony!
WE ARE NOT DOING AUDITIONS THIS FIRST YEAR FOR WIND ENSEMBLE. Starting off simple, with ALL INCOMING 10th and 11th grade brass and woodwind players being automatically placed in Wind Ensemble. Percussion students SHOULD NOT enroll in this class, they should enroll in PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE.

Central Washington University's WindFest serves as the premier concert band festival in the Pacific Northwest. This festival showcases 48 of the finest high school wind ensembles over the course of three days. WindFest is a non-competitive sharing of music between wind band ensembles, however groups will be adjudicated and given clinics. No awards will be made for ensemble performance. Ensembles will be given feedback in clinic form of approximately 20-25 minutes with an adjudicator following each performance.
Central’s Wind Ensemble as well as their Jazz Band 1, will perform throughout the day.

ALL DAY students have individual/small group schedules
Band and Orchestra students have elected to participate in this yearly event that features students in small groups or as soloists. The highlight of their month long journey (sometimes longer), is the performance of their work for an adjudicator who has one bid in each category to the State Championships at CWU in April.
While it is impossible to forecast the competition, students learn along the way the value of working together: organization, team work, creativity, problem solving, listening. These tools are part of the creative process and are the "soft skills" our community of employers are now expressing value over all things in their communities.
The best part is all of the work is by student-leadership. The teacher is intentionally hands-off and only helps when circumstances arrive to have a professional ear solve things. We are really proud of the students, and their groups. Here are details for the trip.
Monday, December 13th at Ridgeline HS Theatre
6:30pm and 8:00pm
Band and Orchestra students will put on a doubleheader of two identical performances so we can assure there is enough seating for everyone. PLEASE reserve general admission for the show you would like to attend by clicking the following link. Read all of the instructions. Each show is approximately, one hour.

Everyone is expected to wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth during their visit to Ridgeline HS. Ride shares and families can sit together, but we expect all groups to sit with one chair between their group and adjacent groups so that we limit any contact tracing protocols. Thank you!
