PERCUSSION YOUTH CAMP
PERCUSSION YOUTH CAMP
The Ridgeline High School Band is excited to host a youth percussion camp on July 10th - 12th for incoming 6th and 8th grade middle school band students.
The camp will include specialized training in the areas of drumline, mallet percussion, and concert percussion and is a great way to increase your skills and supplement your music education. The camp will be taught by the Ridgeline High School Percussion Staff and members of the Percussion Leadership Team.
You'll learn what it's like to be a percussionist in a high school program as well as get to ask questions and hang out with other percussionists from all around Spokane. Come learn to take your drumming skills to the next level!
July 10th - July 12th, 9am - 12:30PM
Camp is for all incoming and 6th - 8th grade CVSD and Spokane area students and has a total cost of $50.00. We will use school equipment and work with RHS coaching staff and student leaders to help students explore various percussion opportunities including mallets, concert band percussion, and even drumline. Ridgeline Percussion CLASS
The Ridgeline HS Percussion Ensemble is one of our most dynamic groups at RHS. It is open to all interested 9th - 12th grade students, and has a week long placement process to place students on the most appropriate instrument assignments for each semester. The Ridgeline Percussion Ensemble will represent the highest level of excellence in our pursuit of percussion performance, which includes the both concert bands and any necessary orchestra performances. Students are focused on developing the use of their musical language to play with the bands and to step out and experience playing unique percussion compositions. Students will pursue the most exciting literature of the traditional and contemporary repertoire.
We will share our music at various concerts throughout the year, including five campus concerts, local/regional festivals and competitions, and numerous other outreach opportunities for students to perform. Percussion during 1st semester has a prerequisite for students to also register for the marching band activity. Anyone can join percussion during 2nd semester with no prerequisite.
We will certainly enrich this page with more details as our school year develops. This is going to be a fantastic music-making opportunity for all Falcons to feel welcome in and to create a new, and exciting community. Welcome to Ridgeline HS Percussion!

They will perform with bands, but not in class. This is unique from the middle school experience.
