CURRENT AUDITION MATERIALS

PERCUSSION AUDITIONS (click here)

These materials are for all incoming and returning members of the Ridgeline HS Percussion section - including the marching band (REGIMENT).  Our audition process is designed not to cut students, but to assess where a student is so we can help engage their unique skill set, or growing skill set to music that will help shine a light on what they already can do as a strength.  But it also allows us to create learning targets unique to the individual performer so they can both BELONG and GROW.

WIND ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS (click here)

These materials are only for current 9th - 11th grade students.  ALL current 9th - 11th grade brass and woodwind students will complete a final this school year, due in early June.  Students will prepare the following materials via a FlipGrid video.  They can elect to do an in-person demonstration but the FlipGrid allows them multiple attempts at submitting their best work.  Students' final will audition them for chair placement in next year's band.  This is a graded event for 2nd semester - Early June 2022.

WIBC HONOR BAND AUDITIONS (click here)

The Western International Band Clinic is hosted in Seattle, WA every November and includes opportunities for students to participate in international honor bands with 600 of the best HS musicians from around the world.  World renowned composers and conductors rehearse the four groups (150 each), and make a professional recording and share their music at a special live event in Seattle.  Students can submit recordings before the Early-October deadline to WIBC via the website on the link provided above.  THE GREAT NEWS, the WIBC audition is the exact same materials as our Wind Ensemble Audition-Final.  So all of our students are working on these materials and can just go the extra effort to create the audio recording for submission before the October deadline!
