Ryan Goetter was raised in Collinsville, IL where he went to Collinsville Unit District for schools. He started in band in 5th grade on trumpet. As he got older he learned Euphonium, French Horn, and Mellophone.

Ryan went to college at Missouri State University and was awarded his Bachelor of Music Education. Mr. Goetter marched as part of the PRIDE of Missouri State (this is the 350 member marching band), played trumpet in the Jazz Studies program, played in all 3 concert bands at the university, Pep Band (both mellophone and trumpet), and various small ensembles, and spent 2 marching seasons as a Crew member of the PRIDE of Missouri State. Outside of Band, Mr. Goetter was a founding member Father of Lambda Chi Alpha - Beta-Psi Zeta (he held multiple position in this organization including: Academics Director of the campus, had a part time job at the university health clinic, and more. In college Mr. Goetter went on trips to Atlanta Georgia for BOA Super Regional and Disney World. He also participated in a conducting clinic where he was under the direction of H. Robert Reynolds and other distinguished conductors. For student teaching Mr. Goetter taught at Belleville East Township High School and Whiteside Middle School.

Since graduating college, Ryan was the Director of Bands/Music Teacher at DuQuoin Middle School from 2019-2021. At DuQuoin he taught beginning band, concert band, marching band, pep band, 6th music history, and 7th grade ukulele. He also would help out at DuQuoin High School. In 2021, Ryan moved back home to Collinsville where he accepted the Assistant Band Director position at Collinsville Middle School and Dorris Intermediate School. He also would help out at Collinsville High School with Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. Starting the school year 2022-2023, Ryan started as the Assistant Director of Bands for Collinsville High School where he assists with the Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. He leads the Symphonic Band and Pep Band. Ryan has also started a Disc Golf Club at the school that is growing and is a great hobby.
