Her laugh begins with a look,
And a slight wheeze like the sound of an old car starting up
Before the backfire, a cackling engine.

A newer model,
But I start up the same way.
Our voices drag race down streets,
Ripping apart quiet,
Exhaust screaming and oil leaking;
Who needs a radio?
