Parody's Child

Abducted child? Overblown.
Highland? Magic Lake? Sure.
Find cellar steps where plants overgrown
Nest waking alley cats to purr.
There, the Lady of the House
Lost in faery man’s prowess
Libatious knights vanished now
In the heartfelt binding vow,
“Come away oh lovely girl,
To the isle of Magic Merle.
We’ll go catting hand-in-hand.
Maids need loving from this man.”
Over the dance floor’s faery dust,
Where the bass guitar meows
To corner-tucked shielding man’s lust.
We dance long as time allows,
Held up by faery man’s arms,
Cheshire grinning faery man’s charms-
Drinking beer we snort the foam,
While the world whirls by
No that’s walls a-spinning by!
Darkness catches at the maiden’s lies
Sticky dreams . . . her mind doth roam.
“Come away oh lovely girl,
To the isle of Magic Merle.
We’ll go catting hand-in-hand.
Maids need loving from this man.”
Where the hotel keys click locks
From the hills of the heights
Flashing signs by loading docks
Barely seen are tail lights.
We seek sleeping maidens,
Men whispering to their necks,
The night has come and gone.
Tangled hair and wrinkled clothes lay laden
With guilty deed and lipstick specks.
They, like vampires flee in early dawn.
“Come away oh lovely girl,
To the isle of Magic Merle.
We’ll go catting hand-in-hand.
Maids need loving from this man.
Yet now the girls cannot return
From the past night’s revelry.
For on their flesh now branded burn
From the jester’s chicanery.
No eve stars flicker out,
Nor micro dinner waves.
They dream of peace and nested sheets;
Alas, no more will they save.
Nor dance to wills’ beguiled beats.
“Come away oh lovely girl,
To the isle of Magic Merle.
We’ll go catting hand-in-hand.
Maids need loving from this man.
