In Our Alley
Erik Peters
Erik Peters
In our alley
By the old cedar
The pavement is ridged
And broken from beneath;
Cracks run up
The building’s wall
From under its foundation.
It is as though
Some subterranean giant
Shrugged his shoulders
Without ever noticing
The creatures on his back.
It is as though?
No.
It is.
