Do not look for me in the ground.
The arms that held you were only
a body obeying my love.
Look for me where there is still love.
Do not look for me in the sky.
The stars I showed you were only
guides toward wonders great and small.
Look for me where there are wonders.
Do not look for me in poems.
The words I showed you were only
examples to start you writing.
Look for me when your pen is on the page.
Do not look for me in the ground.
Use those feet we made to carry
your loving heart to one who will
look for you when you're with me.
