Regeneron Science Talent Search 2022

© 2021 Society for Science & the Public

The Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) focuses on identifying, inspiring, and engaging the most promising scientists among the nation’s high school seniors. STS is the oldest and most prestigious science and mathematics competition in the U.S. Each year about 1,900 high school seniors submit original research papers reporting their independent science, math or engineering research that are reviewed by a national jury of professional scientists. The competition recognizes 300 student scholar semi-finalists and their schools each year and then invites 40 student finalists to Washington, D.C. to participate in final judging, present their work to the public, and meet with notable scientists and government leaders. Each year, Regeneron STS scholars and finalists compete for $3.1 million in awards. STS alumni have made extraordinary contributions to science and have earned many of the world’s most distinguished science and math honors, including thirteen Nobel Prizes.
