NaturalReader is a mobile app that can read aloud a variety of texts like PDFs, online articles, cloud documents, even images taken by your camera and so many more.
1 Visit naturalreaders.com
2 Log in with your CSW Google Account
1 Launch Natural Readers Online
2 Select the Upload Docs button
3 Browse your computer for the pdf or doc
4 Select the 3 dots to the right of the document. Select Create MP3. Choose a voice and convert. IF it says no audio to convert, your PDF needs to FIRST be converted to machine readable text. Select the 3 dots and then choose the option "Scan to Text" and then repeat the process to create the mp3 once the scan to text is finished.
1 When audio file is ready, select download.
2 Save to a folder on your computer with the name Audio - COURSE (ex. WFW - audio files)
*If you are sharing readings with other teachers, please upload the mp3 to google drive and share directly with the teachers in your department who will need the audio file so that we can keep it for the long term.
NOTE: There is an EDU library (where shared classes house PDFs of readings) and your PERSONAL Audio Library (audio recordings you've made of readings). You can see them under the Library Tab by clicking on the 3 dots in the top right. You can also organize into your own filing system if helpful.
1 Navigate to your MYCSW Course page
2 Find location where you'd like to post reading
3 Select Downloads from the elements list and drag and drop on your course page.Â
4 Add audio file to upload either via file on your computer or via Google Drive (if you uploaded it to Google Drive for shared use among other teachers)
4 Save
*do not share on any other website besides behind MYCSW
Make a Topic Page in MYCSW called "READINGS + AUDIO" and add to topic bank.
Share a link to the Google Folder containing audiofiles on topic page (anyone with the link can view). Will automatically update the topic page any time you add a file.
