Housed within CCJR is the Dale K. Sechrest Criminal Justice Research Lab wherein undergraduate and graduate students acquire in-depth training to prepare for careers in intelligence and crime analysis, criminal justice policy analysis or advanced research degrees. The Research Lab offers opportunities to work closely with faculty. This mentorship affords students a chance to acquire research experience and develop skills unattainable through conventional education programs. Support is given to CCJR students wanting to present at professional conferences and publish scholarly papers.
Information and application guidelines to request financial support to present at professional conferences (CCJR students only) can be found here.
Student research collaborations with the CCJR can fulfill requirements for CJUS 5953 (Independent Study in Criminal Justice) or CJUS 5753 (Internship in Criminal Justice).
For more information, or if you are interested in collaborating with the CCJR, please contact Dr. Nerea Marteache, Director of the CCJR, at nmarte@csusb.edu.
The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice offers additional internship opportunities. Detailed information about the internship program, current job and internship openings at outside agencies and organizations, and application process can be found here.
