Funding Proposals

The Citizen Scientist Project welcomes proposals for funding and other collaboration opportunities with faculty, teachers, students, and community agencies. Proposals are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Criteria for Consideration

The Citizen Scientist Project builds the capacity of K-12 teachers and students to weave STEAM, computer science, and civic action to identify and address issues of community concern. Through these disciplines, we connect teachers, students, scientists, and community agencies to engage in storytelling and problem-solving at the classroom, school, and community level. We also foster this work through public teaching opportunities that make a particular strand of content or pedagogy visible and open for discussion.

To be considered for funding, your proposal must focus on work with K-12 teachers and students, and include at least three of the following components:

  • STEAM/Computer Science
  • Civic action
  • Issue of community concern
  • Local data collection
  • Public teaching
