Equity & Inclusion work is ideally built upon a solid foundation of personal reflection and culture. The SEED workshop is an opportunity for staff to build that foundation through self-reflection and sharing and hearing stories. This workshop focuses primarily on the Tone & Trust and the Personal Culture & Personal Journey components of the Equity & Inclusion framework.
The National SEED Project (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) is a peer-led professional development program that promotes change through self-reflection and interpersonal dialogue and builds capacity for more equitable curriculum, schools, and communities. Participants use their own experiences, systemic thinking, and SEED scholarship to deepen their understanding of themselves, expand their knowledge of the world, and point the way to making schools more inclusive. SEED values participant voices so participants can, in turn, value student and community voices.
SEED uses a modified version of the Inquiry professional learning protocol.
