Bearing that in mind, we decided to launch a series of workshops. Since a workshop works better if it's fun, we decided :
Since all organizations need to reflect periodically on their digital ecosystem, we will also open source our CRIBOOT methodology and share it with everyone. By the way, big structures even have IT specialists to do this: Information Systems Urbanization specialists.
All CRI users received a link towards a web form two weeks before CRIBOOT. We asked them about their most important apps for work and communication, alternative apps, personal story of a problem encountered in using collaboration platforms, how they found out about news and events at the CRI and what app they could you not live without. 59 persons answered, giving us a good overview of CRI's digital ecosystem.
We started our first workshop by explaining why we're here (see above), then we collaboratively identify stakeholder needs. Then we mapped all our apps and digital tools on a wall. We linked them together when they share data and processes. Then we started urbanizing : we identified missing links between apps. Finally, we identified duplicate apps by stacking them together.
Since our aim is to improve efficiency and internal communication within the organization, we will use all the info gathered during this first session during the next workshops.
