We have now made a global cartography of the digital tools we use at CRI. We now physically stacked their cardboard representations to group applications by large function. As you will quickly see below, many applications are redondant ; many teams use different applications to perform almost exactly the same function.
Well, yes. If tools aimed at collaboration are not used in different teams, it means that teams cannot collaborate. If we use five different forum/messaging systems, you will miss most of the information.
Do not panic. During Session 2 of CRIBOOT, we will work on each application stack and decide which app should be discarded, according to their features, their cost, user adoption and future potential for scaling up. And we'll have fun doing it!
We have already identified more than 60 applications, so we grouped them together in large categories :
In each group, we have listed the major functions covered by apps and software within CRI. For each function (i.e. file sharing, online forms, etc.) we have identified the tools currently used at CRI, what is really needed and what we can recommend at this stage.
Once you have read all this, you can also have a look at the Digital apps cartography that was created collectively during CRIBOOT workshop.
