JADE is Payton’s very own Chinese dance team that celebrates the beauty and spirit of Chinese culture through dance. We perform a mix of elegant, traditional Chinese dances and powerful, thrilling wushu, with the occasional high-energy C-pop piece. Our mission is to share and appreciate the richness of China’s history, while building a welcoming community for everyone passionate about dance and Chinese culture.

Application: Around the beginning of the school year, we teach a 30 second to minute long audition dance to the applicants during our Thursdays enrichments and after school. After a week or so, we hold auditions in our enrichment and send the audition results to the applicants.

Natural Canvas is a non-profit organization that sells dried flower art to charities like underfunded hospitals, disease research, and other non-profits all across Chicago. The ultimate goal is to prove that everyone has the potential to create a positive impact in their communities.

Payton Art & Literature Magazine, a.k.a PALM, is a student-run club that produces zines featuring art and literature made within the Payton community! Throughout the year, we work together to produce creative work work, publish zines under a variety of themes, design creative fundraising initiatives, and, overall, cultivate a larger creative presence within school!
