In 1891, Irish author Oscar Wilde (1854–1900) observed, “Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man’s original virtue. It is through disobedience that progress has been made, through disobedience and through rebellion.” To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Disobedience promotes progress, by disobeying you are pushing the limit of what is comfortable, or what is accessible. And is a necessary step in technological advancement because, of how little we know about how far we can take something.
Kahzuhiko "Smoky" Nagata, earned his nickname by building some of the fastest and most powerful cars on the planet. Including the fastest street-legal cars in the world, the Top secret V12 Supra and Nissan GTR.
Today he considered a legend in the car community. Almost like a "mad scientist" because he pushed the limits of the engineering and performance of cars inspiring future generations.
He was born in 1964 and lived on a farm where he didn't see many cars, but was fascinated by their machinery and potential.
In his early career he moved to Tokyo with no money but wanted to be a racer and work on cars, so he took on jobs at body shops to make money. Yet he was never satisfied with his work there.
He then went on to open his own shop Top Secret Japan, and drove his V12 Supra on a public road in England as a promotional stunt. He was arrested for a day and deported back to Japan. As well as receiving an international license ban for a month. The car had a similar speed to a fighter jet.
