In 1891, Irish author Oscar Wilde (1854–1900) observed, “Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man’s original virtue. It is through disobedience that progress has been made, through disobedience and through rebellion.” To what extent do you agree or disagree?
I agree with Oscar Wilde's observation that is through disobedience that progress has been made.
One great example of this is Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games and her role in the rebellion that takes place in the series.
"This rebellion helped save many lives by stopping the capital’s plans for the Hunger Games."
In The Hunger Games, the government of Panem is a dictatorship ruled by President Snow. Everyone lives in fear and is divided. Katniss Everdeen gets caught in the abuse of power and speaks against the ideas that President Snow sets in the minds of the people. She becomes the symbol of the rebellion against him and people started to fight against the army.
Katniss Everdeen is the head of the rebellion and fights to take down President Snow. She fought through many battles and won. In the end, President Snow didn't rule any longer and everyone was free. No one was divided or lived in fear. They had the freedom that was gained with the disobedience started by Katniss Everdeen.
