Dual Enrollment is an opportunity for juniors and seniors to take free courses through the City Colleges of Chicago. Students may enroll in one course per semester and earn college credit upon successful completion of it.
Eligibility
Students must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Students must have a 90% attendance rate
Students may need to take a CCC placement test (depending on the course)
Registration Process
Your school counselor needs to approve enrollment in CCC. Once approved, your school counselor will register you with the CCCs. Do NOT fill out the online application.
Once registered, students will need to follow any additional registration steps required by the CCC including attendance for a CCC Dual Enrollment orientation session.
Students may take CCC courses that meet outside of the school day, asynchronously, or as part of their seven class Jones schedule.
If students are taking CCC courses as part of their seven class Jones schedule, they are responsible for taking a dual enrollment course both semesters. If students fail to complete their first semester dual enrollment class, their counselor will place them into a Jones class second semester.
If students are taking CCC classes as a part of their seven class Jones schedule, in-person or live online CCC courses can be taken at the beginning or end of the school day (1st, 5th, or 4th period). Asynchronous online CCC classes can be taken during any period of the school day.
If students are taking CCC courses as part of their seven class Jones schedule, the grade they receive in the CCC course will be added to their transcript and impact their Jones GPA.
If students are taking CCC courses as part of their seven-class Jones schedule that require travel, they will have to follow the CPS and CCC guidelines for logging their attendance.

**Students may not take graduation requirements outside of Jones without prior approval from their counselor and school administration. Approval is at the discretion of school administration.
