After students have met with their counselor and schedules for next year have been approved, schedule changes will not be changed for the rest of the current school year. Once students request courses for the 2026-2027 school year, students cannot request a schedule change again until the week before classes start in the fall. The schedule change window will remain open until the end of the second week of first semester classes.
It is important to note that there is no guarantee the schedule change request will be honored by the counselor or administrator (teachers cannot make a schedule change). Since it is very difficult to make a schedule change, we ask students to make their best informed decision on course selections prior to meeting with their counselor.
Due to class size and staffing availability, all schedules are subject to change prior to the first day of school even though schedules are initially posted in early August.
Reasons why a schedule change may not be processed:
The requested class is full
The requested class does not fit in the student’s schedule in combination with other classes
The student has not completed the prerequisites for the requested class
Courses offered at Jones College Prep are subject to student interest and staffing availability. If a student registers for a course for the following school year, there is a chance the course will not be available in the Fall due to the above reasons.
In the rare case that a student or family would like to request a schedule change outside of the approved schedule change window, they will need to follow-up with the student's counselor immediately. Such a change request would require administrative investigation and approval.
