Some important words to know ....

1. Ancient - Very old or from a long time ago.

2. Civilization - A group of people who have a complex society with cities, government, and cultural achievements.

3. Nomad - A person who moves from place to place without having a permanent home.

4. Dynasty - A series of rulers from the same family who rule a country or region for a long period of time.

5. Empire - A group of countries or regions that are controlled by one ruler or government.

6. Archaeologist - A scientist who studies human history by digging up and examining artifacts and ruins.

7. Decade - A period of ten years.

8. Century - A period of one hundred years.

9. Ancient Egypt - A civilization that existed in northeastern Africa around 3000 BCE and is known for its pyramids, pharaohs, and hieroglyphics.

10. Industrial Revolution - A period of major changes in agriculture, manufacturing, mining, and transportation that occurred in the 18th and 19th centuries.

11. Middle Ages - The period between the fall of the Roman Empire in the 5th century and the beginning of the Renaissance in the 14th century.

12. Renaissance - A period of renewed interest in art, literature, and learning that lasted from the 14th to the 17th century.

13. Industrialization - The process of developing industries in a country or region on a large scale.

14. Ancient Greece - A civilization that existed in southeastern Europe around 800 BCE and is known for its contributions to philosophy, democracy, and literature.

15. Prehistoric - Referring to the time before written history.
