The Carnegie, located in Covington, KY, provides arts programming to students across Northern Kentucky. We are proud to work with the students in the Covington Independent Schools, both during the day and afterschool.
Our goals are to empower students to:
trust in their ability to make creative decisions and adapt
explore ways to communicate their ideas and connect with each other
celebrate their artistic choices and growing skills in the arts
Meet our teaching artists that created these projects and videos:
Miss Kim Popa
She loves dance and is the Executive Director and co-founder of Pones Dance Company. Last year, Miss Kim rappelled down the side of a 14-story building in downtown Cincinnati.
Miss Jackie Smith
She loves theatre, dance and visual arts. She is the Theatre Director at Notre Dame Academy. Miss Jackie enjoys cooking, baking, and hanging out with her cat and dog in her free time.
Mr. Kyle Taylor
He loves theatre and is a professional actor in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. In his free time, Mr. Kyle enjoys writing and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Mr. Josiah Howlett
He loves music and theatre. He recently moved to Covington and was the Music Director at Woodford Theatre’s Emerging Artist program. Mr. Josiah has a pet tarantula named Beldam whom he loves very much!
Ms. Alissa Paasch
She loves theatre and visual arts. She is the Education Director at The Carnegie. Ms. Alissa recently discovered her love for tennis and plays almost every day.
Ms. Torie Pate Perdue
She loves theatre and is a company member with Cincinnati Lab Theatre. Ms. Torie taught herself how to play the ukulele last year.
